Join us for the sixth live video seminar taking place simultaneously in London and New York, focusing on how both cities are driving growth in the science, technology, and research industries.

Science, technology and research industries have been expanding their presence in central city locations, and increasingly sought after as drivers for wider economic growth. Around the world, the rise of ‘innovation hubs’, ‘technology accelerators’, and research campuses have aimed to foster new collaborations, spin off new businesses and drive global competitiveness.

Both London and New York are aiming to become global centres for innovation. But how are these cities providing the spaces and environments for technology, science and research industries to grow? What are the key ingredients to foster innovation? And with growing competition from cities around the world, how do London and NY stay ahead of the game?

The seminar is organised by NLA – London’s Centre for the Built Environment and Kohn Pedersen Fox, in association with New York’s Forum + Institute for Urban Design, and is the sixth in a series exploring the key issues facing both cities and sharing best practice case-studies with the aim of fostering cross-city dialogue and learning.

This series is by invitation-only. Seats are exclusively available to Forum + Institute Fellows and invited guests. This event is free to attend but advance registration is necessary. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 and the event will start promptly at 9:00.
